name origin

It took me a while to pick a name for my site. I started out with Magnificent-Megan because I wanted it to match my other site Magical-Menagerie. But it sounded like I thought to highly of myself.

Then I moved on to The Megster, simple and interesting. And one of my friends thought of "The Magical World of Megan". But finally, my friend Jenny thought of the perfect name, Sworn Obsessions. She said she was thinking about my Harry Potter obsession when she came up with it.

About Sworn Obsessions

I had wanted to start a site for my graphics since I started my first site Magical-Menagerie. I started by making a layout, but I had lots of trouble coding it. So I just gave up for a while. Then in July I decided to try again and made a whole new layout.

But THEN my friend Jenny said she would help me out with the layout because she is totally awesome like that. So she worked on a layout and I worked on a little one of my own. We knew we were going to use hers but she incorporated some of my ideas into her layout.

The Original Layout

I started out with my own layout, which you can see an image of by clicking here. Then Jenny worked on it from there. Finally we ended with the original layout (click to see image).

To start off we used my favorite colors, orange and purple, and then added some blue and pink to the mix because it looked cool. We mixed my squares with circles because i like polka dots and stripes. And then we added a picture of me since it is my personal site, so you can all see what I look like. =)

THEN we used parts from two of my design projects to the layout. The first is the heart made out of two hands (thats me and my brother). For that project we had to use images for the words, the heart was the O in LOVE. =) Then the little bee in the circle was for another one of my design projects. We had to make buttons for our schools design program. So I made this, cool ain't it. And we made it grungy because I am into grunge looks in layouts and graphics. Ha ha. so YAY! =D
